BTU pioneered an industry first with the introduction of the ZIS (Zero Inductive Switching) fresh air door actuator drive. Traditional controls often face issues with actuator doors due to arcing contacts, but the SDX door control developed by BTU uses ZIS soft-start technology, which eliminates this problem.
This advanced system allows for precise movements as small as 1/16th inch, with all start/stop and forward/reverse transitions made without any inductive switching. As a result, there is no arcing of relays, no inductive kicks from the drives, and the system experiences longer motor life, tighter temperature control, and far more reliable performance.
The SDX door control can manage up to 8 fresh air doors, with each door having a control switch that allows for manual operation or test positioning. The SDX continuously monitors all door parameters, providing alerts for limit switch failure, stuck doors, blown fuses, and it displays the exact position of each door. This information is shown on the BTU XT app, offering highly accurate door positioning that is used to calculate and display the overall percentage of fresh air intake.
By comparing fresh air intake across different storage units, this data helps assess the health of the storage environment, offering valuable insights for optimal crop preservation.
